I'm putting a 440 in my 57 Belvedere. I have a 57 318 radiator I'm using to mock-up the cooling system and it looks like the oil filter on a B/RB would interfere with the lower radiator outlet and hose. If I used a shorty oil filter I would have a little more room but still would be tight. So, for those of you who have made this swap, what did you use for a radiator?

Since I will probably have to have a custom radiator made, I could have the outlet moved all the way to the drivers (left) side and put the drain pet**** on the passengers (right) side. That might give enough room. I want to stay with a 22-inch radiator to avoid can of worms (and appearance) of a 26-inch radiator.

Edited comment:

Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees. I was so fixated on the 57 but I should have looked at my 64. Moving the outlet to the far-left side is exactly what was done. I have a Griffin radiator that was a copy of a RB 64 radiator in it, 22-inch 3 core, and it cools my 528 Hemi just fine.

Still looking for other suggestions.

I think you have your right and left mixed up. The B-RB rads have the lower outlet on the right (passenger side) and maybe you should look for a stock radiator before custom.

The B-RB could have the inlet on either side but the majority were on the left (drivers side in U.S.). To solve the oil filter interference problem, I always use the factory 26" radiator and modify the core support as necessary to make it fit.

Never seen a FL BB car with an outlet (lower) on the right (passenger) side.

Here are pictures of mine. If you want, I can try to find the part number. Fits fine. Lower hose is close to the oil filter, but does not touch, only the drain c0ck sits in an awkward place. Needs some bracked mods
Cools better than OE but started to leak but I got it damaged (poorly packed).
