Expert 5K+ Posts: 5054 | car restoration has only gotten more expensive... all projects are now being "questioned" due to restoration costs... heck the chroming cost alone for that car almost makes it a losing prospect... so someone has to love it and lose money on that to restore it... and its a sedan... so...

Can't see anything that needs new chrome, looks like you can make it a runner in no time. Not everyone wants a restored, perfect car. I prefer some Patina and the old car smell over a clinical clean new car

That's why they're so cool... I will never get, how other peoples preferences and actions can affect someones thoughts. So If they were more popular you wouldn't find them "cool" anymore? Does that change their look or performance? I couldnt care less what other people think or do. I loved them from day one and will always do, popular or not.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 7501 Location: northern germany | ronbo97 - 2023-09-22 3:03 PM This is a 1000 - 1500 car, at best. Ron Obviously not into 60 Plymouths. This is the price, or use to be the price, just for the Aero wheel. Same is true for the swivel seats. Headlight rings in this condition went for 200 each on eBay. So not counting the oe bubble windshieild and the V8 Torqueflite Drivetrain, etc, etc its at least $3500 in parts alone.

If you buy it to sell for parts, then you may make a couple of dollars, but good luck shipping the windshield and dealing with people that say they want it, then never follow through. The aero wheel is used and yellowed, so you won't be making a lot there. Then you'll have a partial car that you'll have to store or get rid of. Bottom line: You can't say the price is 'worth it' just because a handful of parts have some resale value. Ron Edited by ronbo97 2023-09-23 12:44 PM

You could replace it with any cheap $20 FL wheel. It's easily shipped. That would make the car almost free, If it was (your claim) a $1000 Car. Ridiculous. And If your into the hobby, you might don't want to sell anything. The bubble shield is no longer available and a good back Up. That is why I said the scene is dying. Elite Veteran Posts: 701 Location: Finland | That special love for these cars just isn`t there among the young people, These cars don`t mean anything to them since they didn`t see them on the roads as children... The old "real" FWL people are soon too old and under the ground..
