I have had to replace two back up light switches on my 56 Powerflite in the last year. Neither worked more than 4 months.
The first I bought from Atlas, their # 838-016.
The second was a Cole Hersee #8629 from Amazon.
Both failed in the same way - Once the back up lights were activated, they stayed on until the ignition was shut off.
I am thinking that the transmission reverse circuit pressure is too high for these switches.
Anyone have another source for a switch?

You could forget about old automotive switches and go straight for the industrial use switch. These will handle 2000 psi and you can pick the setpoint where you want it to turn on. Cost about $65 with an 1/8 NPT threaded connection. They have others that go to 5000 psi, but more expensive.
