Need to know which 392 model engine these heads were used on.

Casting number 1731-528

I know this info should be somwhere if I only knew where to look.

NY'er, 300, Imperial??

1958 Chrysler and Imperial, not 300D.

How did you determine that?
Probably the same as '57 then as well
That's kind of what I thought as well
Wonder what the difference between them is between those and the 1735-282 heads

Turns out that Mr./Ms. Google is smart (he/she? knows where the data is buried)

1731528 1958 392 Hemi
1733463 1957-1958 354 Hemi
1734049 1957 325 Hemi

Same thing I came up with but that still don't break down which cars they were used in.
Anyone's guess I suppose at this point.
Parts books list different part numbers but that's not the casting numbers.

I don't know what the difference is between them. Any differences aren't obvious.

The caveat to Dave's list is that according to my information, the 1735282 was used exclusively on the '57 engines, except it was also used on the 300D. So that's where the '58 term comes from. But it wasn't used across the board in '58. How did they figure this out? Probably have to talk to the 300 club. The parts book isn't of any help here as it lists the same part number for all '57-'58 except for the 300's and New Yorkers with the dual quad power package.

Dave: I doubt if much guessing is needed. Windsors got polys (354s?) so they are out. New Yorkers and Imperials got 392 hemis, at least in 1958 (and therefore 1957?)

I talked with TR Waters about these casting numbers. According to him, there is only one head casting for the 392, the 1731528, and that the 1735282 casting is from a 354. So I checked my stash of loose heads, including one that came from the low mileage '57 New Yorker 4dr hardtop car, and all of them are the 1731528. So the information that that casting number was only used in 1958 is definitely wrong and leads me to believe him about the other casting number being for a 354. However, that number isn't likely for an automotive application. More likely a truck, marine, or industrial 354. According to TR Waters, that head belongs to a truck 354.
