For the 1/2 in bolts connecting the front and rear bumper ends to the center bumper piece, I am trying to confirm whether the original factory bolts were fine or coarse thread? The parts manual indicates bolts with 181xxx part number, which are listed as fine thread. However I would appreciate confirmation from anyone with an original car or definite knowledge. Thanks.

I think they were all fine thread..

I use the jeggs chrome bolts... Chrome is great... not stainless steel

this is the 1/2 inchers i used.

I just checked my '60 New Yorker and found that the bumper extension bolts are fine thread 1/2-20, while the bolts that connect to the bumper brackets are course 1/2-13.

Here are the bolts that hold the front wings onto the main bar. 4 on each side. I had to run them through tap and die to clean them up. Also problematic are the bumper bolts that go on the rear wing to the spring bracket into the quarter panel. The square part is a lot shallower than normal bumper bolts so you can't tighten the nut. I took a couple of the large washers from my old bumper bolts and filed the hole into a square to make spacers.
