Can the flat 57 fit the 58 opening or the bubble fit the 57 or totally different frame shape?

No. Totally different size & shape. However, some reproduction '58 windshields are made to look more flat.

This probably doesn't answer your question but it does show that there was some commonality in the application of windshields to 57-58 Mopars.

Some. Not completely.

Assuming that you are talking about hardtop windshields, the W451 windshield was used on:

57 PDSC 2dr HT and 4dr HT

58 P 2dr HT and 4dr HT

The W453 bubble windshield was used on:

57-9 PDSC convertibles

58 DSC 2dr HT and 4dr HT

59 PDSC 2dr HT and 4dr HT

W452 was used on all sedans and wagons, 57-9.

Imperial is different in all cases.

your refers about hardtop or sedan?

For my understanding all 57/58 300, NY, Fireflite, Firedome 2dr/4dr hardtops are interchangeable,
same with all 57/58 NY, Fireflite, Firedome 4dr Sadans

Bubble glass are only available for hardtops

No, Tom, the hardtop windshields are not interchangeable from '57 to '58. The '57 Chrysler hardtop roof overhang makes the windshield shorter, so the '58 bubble windshield is a couple inches taller to extend higher up on the roof. They won't interchange.

I think you are correct about the sedan windshields though, but I haven't looked into interchangeability between them.

Powerflite is correct. Plus the sedan windshields were used on the station wagons too.

An original solex/shaded windshield had a dark green shade. You can tell a modern reproduction because it has a dark blue shade.
