Location: Ponder, TX | There are several spring manufacturers online that make all sizes and styles of springs and will sell small amounts for a reasonable price. If you have an accurate caliper, you can find a match using their online tools, but they make thousands of different stock springs and even more custom versions so it can be intimidating when trying to duplicate seventy-year-old parts.
I created wiper arms for my '56 Plymouth that look reasonably similar to stock, by using a set of modern generic arms, parts from old, stock arms, and some minor tweaking in a vice.

Location: Valley Forge, Pa. | When I worked in a brewery, I needed a specific size stainless spring for our bottling line. The local spring Co. I dealt with is gone now but as I recall, they had a huge inventory and all the needed was the style of spring, length, # of coils, and the wire diameter. They had them in stock and fairly inexpensive.
Another option is go to cars shows that have flea markets or Hershey IF you live nearby and look around. I haven't been to one in while but there was always someone with a box of assorted wiper arms and usually very inexpensive. Take some sort of measuring tools or at least the old spring and compare. Yours will be a slightly shorter then one in use on a wiper arm. If they're cheap enough, pick up a couple different sizes. |
