Location: Wyoming | I’ve recently discovered that one of the leaf springs (top leaf) for my 57 Dodge is broken in half. I’ve got a replacement spring off a parts car, but it is 37” instead of 35” like my original (planned on replacing the same both sides). Can someone with a 58 Dodge measure the distance between the frame shackle mount at the rear and the spring mount in the front, and tell me the distance (I am now nowhere near my parts car)? I’m curious to see if the mounts on the frame were relocated from 1957 to 1958. Possibly there is something else accounting for the longer spring between the two years. Any information is appreciated. |

Location: So. Cal | Yes, the '58 Dodge spring is 2" longer than the '57. The difference in lengths quoted is just due to how they measure them. Take a look at the interchange manual to see all the cars that have the same springs.

Location: Wyoming | Thanks for the information on the interchange. Still curious if someone could measure the distance between the spring mounting points on a 1958 frame. |
