Just received a copy of my cars build card from Danielle in Detroit. Not a very good copy, but as clear as can be according to Danielle (who's been very helpful). Maybe someone can chime in on the decoding of this card, also wondering if the dealer code is only 3 numbers or if a number is missing? Supposedly the selling dealer was James Capps Motors in Breckenridge, TX which I'm trying to confirm. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks,
Bernie

How long did it take to get your card copy?

I ordered mine about two months ago and am still waiting. I know there is a lengthy time frame.

Dealer codes, from my experience, tend to be 5 numbers. I only see 365 but then again, you do NOT have the full card. A full card has 80 columns. I only see 71 or 71, not 80. You might want to ask Danielle to try again.

It took about 6 months to receive the Build Card, so be patient. Sorry about the image, the bottom half was cut out somehow. Here's the full Build Card

Now it is too small to be useful. Email the original image (from Danielle) to me (check your inbox) and I will turn it and resize and sharpen it.

At least you did actually get the full 80 columns from Danielle.

Your dealer code is 36582 which I realize now I could have figured out last night from the actual punch holes above the "Dealer" section.

That code does not show up in any of the dealer code threads that we have here, like this one:

Yes power steering and brakes, swivel seats, dual exhaust and H3 option group which includes all options listed in number 1 2 and 3 group below. No that is not my car, but here are photos of mine. Just used that picture initially before I picked mine up

Bernie: I'm guessing that Igor (frwl) has done a good job on your IBM card. Now that he can see your cowl data plate, he might change something (but I doubt it).

Here is a manipulated version of the pdf card you forwarded to me:

Thanks for the help, appreciate it. Still a work in progress, but I got it back on the road this spring after sitting for 15-20 years. Wide whites and correct hubcaps will be installed shortly, then interior will be adressed. Been using the winter for mechanical restoration, utilizing a Firedome 4dht for the parts that were missing. This Forum has been a go to place for many issues that I've encountered, so I'm pleased to have so much knowledge at my fingertips

Bernie: Thanks for posting a data plate picture.
Dave: Thanks for posting readable broadcast sheet picture.

I can recognize more codes in an upper row:
«1» next to the TRIM 364 is a 361 = Swivel Seats (if would be 2 = 362 – Power Swivel Seats)

The tires 53 codes is something weird; here some info what I have about ’59 Tires:
13 = Tires –
15 = Tires – White Side Wall 8.50 x 14 Rayon
17 = Tires –
19 = Tires – White Side Wall 9.50 x 14
27 = Tires – White Side Wall 9.00 x 14 Nylon
29 = Tires – White Side Wall 9.50 x 14 Nylon

«1» in front of REGION 75 is a 611 = DRIVE – Domestic (Left Hand)

Middle row:

549 = Generator – 35 Amperes 4 1/2 inch Frame (don’t know what the frame is this)
Other Generators Available:
545 = Generator – 40 Amperes Extra Heavy Duty
540 = Generator – 35 Amperes

Next to the Windshield Washer, column 52 – REG DATE «D», column 7;
Additional information in the left corner of the broadcast sheet: Column 7 = RECD DATE (maybe it is Record Date?)
Here in the left corner, in the column 7, card punched above on the «4» and on the unknown place, just below MODEL 432 script;
Maybe «4D» or «D4» in the Column 7 means Record Date April 4, 1959?
Scheduled on March 20, 1959, while recorded on April 4, 1959? Just my guessing…

And a couple words about your data plate:
C4 = 314 = Aluminum Sweep Insert;
H3 = 313 = Accessory Group 313
J2 = 402 = Left Outside Rear View Mirror with Remote Control
M1 = 501 = Undercoating (not an Antenna 331, Swiveling Seats 361, or Automatic Beam Changer 391)
N6 = 466 = Solex Tinted Glass

Wow thanks for the additional input, lots of information here but only a few of us know how to decipher it. Just great to be able to look back to the past and put more pieces of the puzzle together. Nice detective work is always appreciated
