Hi fellow members..
After replacing the steering shaft plastic insulator between the steering box & steering shaft due to alot of dangerous play whilst driving.
The horn now no-longer works.
The original plastic insulator removed was decimated yet the small square copper shim that was stuck up against the outer side of the old insulator was still intact ..
so i re-glued it onto the new insulator same position for easy insertion & i sanded clean the outer face of the shim to ensure it made contact with the shaft housing once inserted.
After putting all back together horn failed to work.

Is there any other way to now make the horn work without completely dis- assembling again ?
Maybe make some sort of connection on the steering shaft between the steering wheel & indicator mechanism ?
Will totally appreciate your efforts to help solve this problem. Thanks !

nope have to tear it apart. there is a coper foil that connects the shaft to the wheel.

Search "shaft insulator" and you might find pics.

First of all, check with a ground wire from a good ground to the steering column (on a spot with good coontact)
Otherwise you'll need to pull the steering column and insure a good ground.

Below photos of a solution made by a member here.

Verify that the black wire that extends from the black horn button is still connected to the 'multi-connector' (for lack of a better term). You will have to pull the steering wheel in order to get to the button. Also, verify that the wire wasn't yanked from the button. It's a fragile design and this often happens.

Here are the instructions I gave years ago along with a little trick to keep the insulatur alive a little longer with better steering feedback to boot:
