Hi, I tried to search for pics or drawings, is there somewhere any info on engine and transmission alignment or centerline for the package versus the subframe? Noticed that engine and transmission isn`t inline with the car... Looks like its twisted to the left, not strait with the rest of the car... I know it should sit a bit on the "right" side of the center of the car and it is but how much and where should it actually be? Does anybody have any info of this to share?

Not to make this anything easier but; I noticed that engine and transmission also sits about an inch an an half behind the spot it should be referring to pictures on the net, because I got another driveshaft to replace the old one (which was installed with an adapter to the transmission and God only knows where it came from?) and found out that the correct driveshaft is that much longer and doesnt fit! Aargh...

Oh and the engine is a 383 and 3-speed Torqueflite..

Any help?

You are correct, the engine should sit to the right of centerline, I think about 1 1/2" It should not be twisted. Are you using factory motor mounts?

Yes, factory Floating Power mounts, forgot to mention, the subframe is from a six-cylinder car and the mount pads are welded in place, I think in the wrong position?

The /6 frame mounting pads are different than the V8. You'll have to do some fabricating.

Yes it seems like some fabrication is to be done, it would be nice to know where the crankshaft centerline should be between the framerails... Confuesed...

Just measured the front of engine is 3/4 from crank center to the right measured between the frame rails, seems like it needs to move another 3/4 more to the right? Seems like I have to move those welded pads more to the right, gets tricky with the engine in place...

I don't have the frame dimensions for 60 but on the 58 frame the engine mounts are offset 2 1/16" to the right. are you sure you have the correct wlelded on mounts for a V-8? The 6 cyl takes a different pad.
