Hi all,  a friend of mine aquired a 2-4bbl intake in a parts deal at a swap meet.

He was told it would fit 330, 341, 345, and 318 polys.

The casting number 1731560.   Would this fit on a 318 poly ?

He doesn't have anything he can use it on  (68 charger 69 Roadrunner)

He's offered it to me for the Fury but I want to see if it's actually going to work first.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks, Phil.

You can look up the casting number on the hemi site, or you can look at the part number catalog to see if any part numbers are close to this. It turns out this is an intake for a '56 DeSoto Adventurer. As such, the intake will work on the 330, 341, 345 hemi motors. DeSoto hemi motors are completely different from any of the other makes, such as the Dodge, Plymouth or Chrysler motors. Practically none of the parts interchange with each other except the timing chains & lifters etc. The 318 poly is a Plymouth motor, originally, and won't swap parts with the DeSoto. Long story short, no, it won't.

Crap !! Thanks Powerflite. I didn't think so but I wanted some expert opinions.
The carbs are there. Can I use them on a 2-4 setup for a poly or are they also brand and year specific ?

They will work on an early intake where the manifold has the small square WCFB bolt pattern. Might be able to use them on a later manifold with adapters, but not sure.

1731560 is a 56 Adventurer intake, could be worth selling complete if it has the matching carbs, the 57 Adventurer intake 1821319 is similar but has a extra water pipe outlet near thermostat.

yup, if original carbs the carb/intake set up should sell for decent money to restorers or hot rodders, fairly rare
