Member Posts: 28 Location: St. Louis | Swapping a Desoto Hemi into my 57 Belvedere that had a 318 Poly. Oil came out of this while cranking, and I don't know where it goes? First picture is the top view. Line is coming out of the top of the engine on the right side of the distributor. Second pictures shows the end of the line where the oil came out of. Member Posts: 28 Location: St. Louis | Thank you! That explains why I can find where it hooks up, must have done something different in 57 Plymouths with the Poly. Guess I will try to find a cap for it, til I get it all sorted

Guess I will try to find a cap for it, til I get it all sorted I presume, therefore, that the 57 Plymouths had an "idiot" light for low oil pressure warning. It would be driven my an electrical pressure switch screwed into the block where the oil pressure line currently is located. In my opinion, you should take advantage of that oil pressure line and run a mechanical oil pressure gauge under the dash. Just sayin'. (Lemons/Lemonade)

Expert Posts: 1740 Location: Alaska | If you decide to go with a mechanical gauge, you should first take the brass fitting that screws into the engine and fill the inside with solder and drill a small hole (.040 or so) through the solder. That way if you ever get a leak from a broken line it will be a slow leak. From personal experience.
