Hi,

Looking for a water pump for a 1957 345ci engine, cannot seem to find any available, there are ones listed upto 1956 and just wondering if the only difference is the size of the spigot where the pulley fits?
If so I can swap that over

This is my type of pump with the shaft exposed where the pulley fits

Thanks Paul.

These are the ones available listed to fit a 341ci, but have a larger bore for the pulley?

I think that your water pump was/is Part Number (PN) 1752 218, which looks like this (below):

Mopar Mall says that they can/will rebuild your pump for $$.

Hi Dave,

I think the only difference is the hub that the pulley bolts to and I can get one of the larger hub for a third of the price, shipping and import duty ect

Thanks Paul.

The other critical details include the center to center spacing of the 4 mounting bolt holes. With the 55 and 56 Dodge V8s there are smaller and larger versions that look the same but the hole spacing is significantly different.

The last critical dimensions included the impeller diameter and the distance between the pump mounting flange and the pulley mounting flange (short nose or long nose??).

Hope it works out.

The large pilot hub is for the '56 and earlier. The shaft and bearing assembly is the same. Being very careful, you can press the large hub off and install the '57 hub.

OK thanks for replies, stripped mine and worn out inside, looks like easiest way is to buy the earlier pump and swap hub over ??

Just a update on water pump, the new manufactured ones that kanter supply will not work with the other hub, the shaft is slightly small and I can just push the old hub on by hand, going to try machining the hub that came with the pump and see if that works.
