Elite Veteran Posts: 827 Location: tailFinland | I've been away from this site for about year. I come with my lates project that I bought this winter from Sweden. Car it self iconic custom from early 1980 Finland. It is built from two "60 Desotos with standards, knoledge, skills and tools that were back then in thi poor country. Car game famous from car shows, videos, adds and magazines. Unfortunately this car got victim of arson attack in Sweden 2018. It was badly damaged in fire. Owner did not give up after the schock, but was unable to carry over this big project Finally this legendary car ended up to my garage. This is craziest project that I EVER have had. It really makes no sense to restore or build car like this. I do know that and I wish no conversation about that. Decision has made, It'll raise again from the ashes like Phoenix bird (It btw has Phoenix vin like export Desotos used to have) (434542260-m.jpg) (251435_401729539881313_905799492_n.jpg) (225085_399189080135359_1882025899_n.jpg) (16299869_631249210391785_6870022974913237480_o.jpg) (27072577_795475393969165_4164138242888137403_n.jpg) (21125494_730646117118760_1640323495307983016_o.jpg) (16300010_631249420391764_5428444555794665236_o.jpg) (16426296_10158053320755307_3453156030492780564_n.jpg) (16300296_631249323725107_6900581292992144491_o.jpg) (37591208_893653520818018_7565826277655969792_n.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 434542260-m.jpg (67KB - 290 downloads) 251435_401729539881313_905799492_n.jpg (61KB - 284 downloads) 225085_399189080135359_1882025899_n.jpg (88KB - 292 downloads) 16299869_631249210391785_6870022974913237480_o.jpg (116KB - 295 downloads) 27072577_795475393969165_4164138242888137403_n.jpg (69KB - 306 downloads) 21125494_730646117118760_1640323495307983016_o.jpg (106KB - 289 downloads) 16300010_631249420391764_5428444555794665236_o.jpg (172KB - 298 downloads) 16426296_10158053320755307_3453156030492780564_n.jpg (46KB - 292 downloads) 16300296_631249323725107_6900581292992144491_o.jpg (148KB - 289 downloads) 37591208_893653520818018_7565826277655969792_n.jpg (80KB - 304 downloads)

Did they catch the person that burned the car and Kastroivatko he hänet? :) Nah, They did'nt even catch the person who shot the prime minister 40 years ago :). All cars at that paking lot were burned. Thousands of cars are burning every year. Criminal gangs control many areas. I guess thats their sign. But lets not talk about it. Swedes are nice people and car guys.

Are you planning to bring it back to its former 70's plush interior with Imperial gauges, or go back to the original '60 DeSoto interior? It'll be custom and not replica of its 70's style or original Desoto. Hav'nt desided yet. I m gonna repilcate the paint in final version, yellow/gold flake... Got extra Chrysler dash frame (Thanks Reijo who donated it). Maybe air suspension. I am missing whole interior except dash and steeringwheel so, hard to tell whats it gonna be. I got most converible stuff from another, naturally burnt 63 Chrysler (burnt top down) and I got real 61 NY conv in my garage what to match and measure and get it done close to factory specs. Old destroyed top stuff was from Ford and custom fabrication.

Elite Veteran Posts: 827 Location: tailFinland | Well, its been a while since I last posted any updates. I mostly make them at my Facebook site "Adventurer Garage". Last summer I got better front fenders and all side trim from Sweden. Spent couple of months in California and found a 64 convertible with rotisserie. Bought taillight cores from Gary Grossich and hood+ other stuff from Big M. I have done some metal shaping during winter and spring but nothing on summer time. Except last week, I put Desoto into rotisserie I got last winter. This will be huge leap in progress I think. Everything is much easier and available now. Rockers are nightmare I got to deal with next. Blasting and redoing previous repairs, even my own will be done. Elite Veteran Posts: 827 Location: tailFinland | Started working with rockers in October. Both were just nightmares (70's quick repairs, saddle batches, rust and uncomprensive odd constructions) I took it as a metal fabrication challenge. I cant give up in this stage. I also bought "intelligent" new mig/mag welder and it eased the prossess a lot. Why did'nt I bought it 5 years ago Rockers got new beams in side and lot of new sheet metal. Expert 5K+ Posts: 8445 Location: Perth Australia | I am almost finished with welding the body on my Plymouth. Using a rotisserie makes life so much easier. My hat goes off to you though, I think I could do what you have done, but I dont think I would have done it. I especially like the rail you have fitted in the rockers, that car will be as strong as a tank
