You're right but it's rare as hen's teeth!

When was the last time a 61 Polara coupe came up for sale? I've only seen half a dozen in the last 15 years or so and this one is the last I remember:

Rare doesn't always correlate with price. The '61 Polara doesn't usually sell for a lot of money.

Interesting to note that it's a stick-shift car, and appears to have only been manual brakes. Could you get a slant 6 in the Polara? If not, this could be a pretty rare Big-Block Stick car.

I didn't notice the manual trans. I believe there were two engine options for a manual. There could be a standard 361 (265 HP) or a D500 option (325 HP).

Ambitious seller, appears to be a big block car, judging by the mounts still bolted to the crossmember .

Believe you mean "hardtop". There were no 2-dr sedan (coupe) in the Polara model line.

Also, the 61 Polara models are out there. In fact this one was on the forum just a couple years back. Not certain if it sold but, nice looking project and much more complete compared to the one now listed on ebay.

I wish the new owner good luck with the roof section. I looks like it has been lifted with a strap through the side window openings and squeezed until the rear
window has popped .

The car does appear to have V-8 motor mounts but they could be for a 318 as well as a BB. Ralf, not sure what you see in the roof but old cars that sit abandoned in fields seem to end up with broken glass. They make good targets for kids. I bought my 58 Plymouth in a similar condition (no engine, trans.) but the body had almost no rust and only a few small dents and all the glass was there.

For all 1961 Polaras, the standard engine was the 361 B block 2 barrel. 318 was NA on the Polara, only on Darts.

Hope I am wrong Rolland . On both sides there is alarge verticel dent on the dooors abour 4 inches from the door handles. And the driver side roof rail trim is flattened , you can`t see the other side.
The rear view of the roof line looks a bit wavy too...maybe an illusion.

I see the damage Ralf sees, but perhaps something fell on the driver side and roof of the car?
