What are the original crossram colors of a 1961 Plymouth sonoramic engine?
Are the air cleaners gold or orange?
Is the engine block silver or black.
Are the tubes red, silver, or ?

1960 and 1961 SonoRamic Commandos were supposed to come off the line with the same red blocks and gold valve covers as the Golden Commandos but had gold ram tubes and air cleaners. Note I said "supposed" as strange things did happen in production lines. For example, when my '65 Sport Fury was delivered to me on November 21, 1964, it should have had oversize wheels to accommodate the oversize brakes included in its 426-S engine package, but somehow or other ordinary 8.00X14 wheels and tires were put on. At any rate, the red and gold scheme I described above is the correct "shoulda."

No way! Silver blocks on '60s and '61s were 318s.

Yes, all 60/61 Golden Commandos I have ever seen in 30+ years, unrestored cars, had silver blocks.

Here is a engine pic of 61 361 of what I believe to be silver original paint.

I never saw a 361 GC with a silver block. The 318's had silver ones with red air cleaners. Since all those Plymmer B-Series engines came out of the same plant, I kinda suspect they were all painted the same, both GC's and Sono's, especially since the Dodge B mills also had red blocks. But this wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong.
Both of your engines may well be original, but perhaps they were both pulled and overhauled.

Hi Joe, not that long ago there was an untouched red 60 Belvedere GC 4 door sedan on Ebay, a rough car in a salvage yard, that sat there for decades, everything was correct and oe factory, not hot rodded, it wasn't a red block, IIRC it was silver, like my 60 GC.
My untouched, rough, low mileage 61 Fury GC that was involved in an accident in the 80s and spent 30+ years in a salvage yard has a silver block, not a trace of red.
Of course you never know, the rules weren't carved in stone and different factorys possibly followed different rules, but silver colored GC's exist without a doubt.

Let me fudge a bit then. Even though I never personally saw a GC with a silver block, the factory specs said the way they were supposed (again, note: SUPPOSED!) to be was with red blocks with gold valve covers. But as you say, strange things happen when ordinary human beings produce thousands (tens of thousands!?) of automobiles. After all, my '65 SF with the 426-S package came to me with standard 7.75X14 wheels rather the proper 8.25/14 wheels. Not only the did my dealer not catch the mistake, but even I didn't realize it until I saw the car on a lift and noticed the rims were snug against the drums which caused distortion of the drums when hot.
"Who knows what evil lives in the hearts of men?" A diabolical laugh. "The Shadow knows." Another fiendish laugh. (The opening lines of a 1950s radio show.)

Joe, I once had a car with epuipment that didn't much the build sheet found under the carpet and the options on the build sheet weren't pulled from the car as there were no holes in the original sheet metal for these. If you look at original 60 Furys, some lower front valances were painted silver, some body color, so everything is possible. Here is a unrestored 61 GC with a silver block:

I never heard about the show, but this one is one of my favorites, always wondered about the title:

Yes, and you belong to the very few that can say that with a smile (or a fiendish laugh?) as you lived "it" and nobody can take these memories away from you.
