what are good insulation products for the interior headliner ...........sound and heat deadener ?

I see the best is dynamat and most expensive . Kilmat seems to be the next best choice and cheaper . any one use Kilmat or any other products with a sticky back ? I want something that will stick to the roof and not let go. some products rubber membrane is smelly too. Thanks.

the pic is a product called noico . this material is a sound and heat deadner the other two mentioned above are not.

I used Roadkill in my '56 Plymouth. It was less expensive than most, sticks great, and no bad smell. It's highly rated, but my car is not yet on the road, so I have no firsthand opinions about the effectiveness of the material.

Killmat and Noico are the same product both from Russia and 40% cheaper than roadkill.

It seems like it does the job. I like the 80 mill noico. The russian stuff didnt smell at all.

fatmat is a good product also.

New stuff is mat66 and its super cheap but they say it stinks.

there is "Allmat" also. looks like good stuff.

seems like there is fatmat and vibro are usa made and reasonable and dynamat which is stupid to pay for the same rubber sheet.

everything else is the same russian guy, Silless, Matt66, Alllmat, noico, killmat... all the same russian guy.

Yeah ..... I'm searching for a product that has both sound and heat deadening effects all in one . like noico .I'd like to have one product that does both issues vs just a rubber membrane for noise .

I'd be interested in what you decide. I'm at that point in my car also...I bought something from Summit that is supposed to do both but have not applied it yet..Seemed like more bang for the buck to me...i read some only deaden sound and some only insulate. The one from Summit is supposed to do both with no smell.

When gluing to the inside of the roof be sure to use a Hi-Temp adhesive like 3M 38808.

That ultramat type material is not good for insulating. Its glorified bubble wrap and conducts heat well actually. I think its more for the radiant portion of the heat not so much the hot surface so it will work ok for reflecting heat like sunlight but when glued to a surface it conducts heat.

I have used the offbrand sound deadener and it all works just as well. No reason to spend twice as much on dynamat. I put a layer of the butyl rubber sound deadener on the ceiling first (after it was painted) then added the insulation on top of that.

I just lined my roof with the same padding I used on the floor under the carpet. Glued it up with weldwood contact cement and it's worked great.

I haven't done it to my Forward Look. However I used Fat Mat and a layer of that silver backed bubble wrap stuff in my 1980 Dodge truck and in my Camaro. It made a noticeable difference in both cars. I used 3M spray adhesive to stick the bubble wrap stuff to the roof.

my 59 dodge had this original 1/2-3/4"" jute insulation glued to the roof , very heavy stuff and was all fall down and caused the cardboard headliner to sag aftertime . won't use that stuff.

well ........... finally got around to the head liner insulation installation . I used the noico sound and heat deadning material.. It made a big difference ! all the rattles are gone ! sounds more solid for sure. I had my doubts , but this Noico stuff really works . I recommend . I used the thicker material. sorry my camera is a the blink !

I used Noico red in the doors. Once you stick it on don't try to remove it. Can't wear rubber glove when installing as the glue won't let go of the Glove. My car is not on the road as yet, so don't know how it preforms.

since the noico is not that thick , what you guys recomend to fill the void up some because it had 1/2" jute up there when new. jute is just too heavy and holds moisture. maybe another type of insulation. I have to glue it to the noico.
