Expert Posts: 2196 Location: Muskego, WI | Looking for motor mounts for my 1961 Plymouth Savoy. Currently has a slant 6, but my dad has a freshly built 440 that he's itching to do something with. Need everything to connect the block to the frame up front. I have no idea what these look like, so any help is appreciated. Thanks.

NO - the subframe is the SAME for both slant 6 and V8 engines The mounting brackets that are welded to the frame are in different location and use a different style / shape depending on which engine. I will try to post some some pictures of each setup in the next week Edited by Space Trukin Wagon 2019-11-24 12:33 AM

Extreme Veteran Posts: 425 Location: Ohio | Jon, Here are pictures of the front sub-frames showing the motor mount locations for a V-8 compared to slant 6 I have front sub-frames for V-8 and slant six engines from both 1960 and 1961 Dodges. The frames are identical for dimensions for both years. There are some minor differences with holes or other clips. This is the Slant 6 sub frame Notes: > the passenger side does NOT have a mounting ear welded to cross member on the sub-frame instead there is a small plate, the engine motor mount bolts directly to the frame using the cage nut that's on the plate > drivers side mounting ear is smaller and welded in different location (more towards right / passenger side) compared to the V-8 mount Edited by Space Trukin Wagon 2019-11-30 8:02 PM (Frame_Slant6_a (2).jpg) Attachments ---------------- Frame_Slant6_a (2).jpg (233KB - 125 downloads)

Extreme Veteran Posts: 425 Location: Ohio | Here is picture of the sub-frame for a V-8 engine Notes: > on passenger side can see the hole in cross member under the welded ear mount where the slant-6 plate and cage nut would be attached > both mounts larger and different shape than the slant-6 > divers side ear mount is located in a different location Edited by Space Trukin Wagon 2019-11-30 8:03 PM (Frame_V8_b (2).jpg) Attachments ---------------- Frame_V8_b (2).jpg (196KB - 136 downloads)

Extreme Veteran Posts: 425 Location: Ohio | Since the actual motor mounts for a V-8 engine are still bolted to the ears that are welded to the frame here are close up pictures showing the bracket attached to cross member on the subframe Edited by Space Trukin Wagon 2019-11-30 8:04 PM (Frame_V8_Mount_a (2).jpg) (Frame_V8_Mount_b (2).jpg) Attachments ---------------- Frame_V8_Mount_a (2).jpg (225KB - 136 downloads) Frame_V8_Mount_b (2).jpg (227KB - 136 downloads)

Elite Veteran Posts: 765 | So you just need to cut the brackets off a V8 sub and re weld them on /6 sub? If so Jon I have this 62 300 that has a bent sub that I'm replacing the sub with a 63 300 sub. I'm not sure what my time frame is to do this swap just yet. Attachments ---------------- image.jpeg (216KB - 123 downloads)

Expert Posts: 2196 Location: Muskego, WI | Ok, so I need the brackets off the frame, the motor mounts and the big block/V8 torsion bars. Anyone have all that?
