Very cool! I like the use of "Turbo Flash"

where do they use that engine name? I've heard it before, but I could find no references in the owners reference book. couldn't find it in the service manual either. Was it just an advertising?

They use it in the service bulletins and in the advertisements. I think it may have been a later decision and didn't make it to everything. But it's odd because the engine was a brand new design and only standard in the DeSoto line.

Nice! I knew I had seen that before, but I was surprised it wasn't in the owner's manual. That's where Dodge had all their engine names. It doesn't sound like they distinguish between the 350 and the 361. Both were the Turboflash.

That all leads me to kind of favor the Turboflash no V-8 design. It shows it as all one word, consistent with the ads. The V-8 might be superfluous since no in-line 8s or 6s were available (at least for US passenger cars - brings up an interesting point for Diplomats and the foreign De Soto truck production).

Good point, the '55-'59 DeSoto used a unique font on it. In my mind, I thought the Sportsman font was different, but it's really just the "S" that looks more script like. The font also has that very odd backward slant to it that you'll never see on any other font. I made a first attempt at it and came up with this - and a poorly colored version. And because of the slant, it might look better with the emblem in the reverse position like the last one.
