I've seen these advertised before but don't quite understand what they are supposed to "repair" on the ball joint.
I don't plan on buying them or using them but I was just curious how these repair the ball joint.

ball joints weren't sealed like they are today, so you just rebuild the bushings. It was kind of a hack job though.

It kind of places a shim in between. I would understand they cant give these away. You can get a moog new for like 20$.

Thanks, didn't know the ball joints could be taken apart.

Actually you can't. Of course you can grind/cut them open carefully and then you could rebuild them. The aftermarket ball joint "repair kits" I understand go on the outside.

I have a very rare MOOG (still 50s/60s quality) NOS rebuildable/adjustable lower ball joint pair. These have threaded covers. If someone is interested?
