Location: Suwanee, GA | Hi all,
My 62 413 has a coolant leak on right side towards rear of engine. It's not the block core plugs or hoses. I replaced those previously and was able to see them. Wasn't dressed to crawl under the car at the time, but did some research and think it's the rear core plug in the head. It's dripping onto the torsion bar. Assuming so, any words of wisdom before diving in? Am I likely to experience stubborn manifold bolts that might want to break? My car is 150 miles away at my parent's is why I'm asking. Trying to get this done tomorrow.

Location: Suwanee, GA | I was able to work on it today. The six nuts attaching the manifold to the head loosened nicely. It's the two locknuts holding the exhaust pipe flange to the manifold that are causing me grief. Can't budget either one. Anyone know if those two bolts are removable, or are they pressed into the manifold? I might have to cut them off.
It's definitely the rear of the two side core plugs that is leaking. It's hidden by the downturn of the manifold, so manifold must be removed. |

You might be calling them the wrong name. Napa or Dorman have a number of different sized "expansion plugs"
