Location: Falcon, CO | It certainly looks like a nice car. However, I am not familiar with the convertibles enough to know if everything is correct. For example, it has the sport (Custom Coronet) interior for the seats with the starburst design but doesn't have the sport door panels with the three horizontal rows of mylar (are those Royal door panels?). It also does not have the Coronet dash but appears to have a Custom Royal dash with the aluminum around the gauges and on the glove box door. And the license plate frame is chrome but should be painted on a Coronet. Were the convertibles different from the other Coronets?

Location: CA | Not to nit-pick but just saying.. the upholstery fabric is wrong for a convertible, door panels from a CRL, the seats on the Coronet shouldn't have the dip in the middle, the trim around the gauges/glovebox door isn't right for Coronet, the trim around the license plate on the trunk, the trim strip above the rear bumper isn't right. Seems to be a hodge podge.. nice car but still a hodge podge. Oh yeah and the interior color of the convertible roof bows is supposed to indicate the top color.. in this car they are black and white on the outside. A lot of liberties were taken with the "restoration." I wonder what the build sheet indicates?

Location: Lower Mainland BC | I think that we have discussed this car at least one (or ten?) times before. Probably everytime it comes back on the market with some new twist to the story or the accessories that are on it, whatever.

Location: Whetstone, Arizona | The data tag is correct for a D501....Is this The car That Had The VIN trouble at "That" Auction house?...the car is legit....from what I have been told by good authority..the guy that did the restoration work was sloppy and tried to spot weld the VIN tag back on the door frame and blow holes through it!...that's why it was reissued with a AZ rebuild VIN and bonded title....I've not been updated since this happened , So the VIN might have been sorted out |

Location: Whetstone, Arizona | Mike...He must of had another cheap tag made later on then...because a person we both know well, informed me that the original tag was destroyed by shoddy welding skills, Our guy has known and seen the car over many years.

| He has a state issued vin number. I think.. issued by the dept of transportation and was applied by them. They consider it a lost vin tag. Ohio has the same process.
Thats why its AZXXXX etc. If the vin tag was destroyed, it should still be present and discern-able. I thought the vin tag was an aluminum repop?
I would think AG Tags back east would be using aluminum vs stainless stamping? Has anyone gotten a vin tag from Back East?
I think the body tags are aluminum?

| I believe it to be a real car. As mentioned, the tag was aluminum. Was just a crummy deal all around. I was offered the car privately for about 300k lol |

One wonders why, when a VIN tag falls off, instead of risking distruction by trying to weld it back, why not just epoxy it back into place ? There are super strong epoxys out there that will keep it there forever. Ron |
