it reads 0-100 mph, part # stamped on back, 1580939. my 56 V8 car speedometer reads to 120 mph (never will happen)
wonder if this one is from a 6 cyl car? thanks for your help.

Jerry: The PN for the 55-56 Plymouth speedo is 1604 228, same for both the 6 and 8 cylinder cars. Not sure what 1580 939 is/was. Only going to 100 mph seems pre-1955. I think even my high school/university 55 Canadian Dodge (Plodge) 6 cyl had a 120 mph speedo. (Only ever got it to 85 mph - what a stupid kid).

The 55 and 56 American Dodge speedos had different PNs because the 55 was white on black and the 56 was creamy white on "green"(ish).

That would make sense. But a truck not a Power Wagon (I just checked the 1948-56 Power Wagon Parta catalogue).
