The Chrysler Carlisle show is less than a month away.

The dates are July 12-14th with Thursday July 11th usually earybird admission

Anyone making the trip over to the show ?

Started this thread as a place to let others know your spot. Who’s driving a forward look to the show, bringing or looking for parts. That way can stop by.

It was great meeting some forward look members at the show last year. Hope to see some again.

As usual I will be attending and will be setup in the swap area. Spots P14 - P16. Many parts for sale including forward look stuff.

We're bringing the Plaza wagon again this year. I had pre-registered the Charger, but that's not ready, so I switched it to the '55. I put it in the '55 to '61 class instead of the wagon class this time.

A friend of mine that will be going to Carlisle with his Desoto but is not that computer savvy will also bring some parts to the show.

He has a ton of cool & rare parts for FL cars. One of the more interesting pieces is an NOS grille for 1960 Dodge Dart Seneca, Pioneer & Phoenix models (PD3 and PD4).

If anyone is interested stop by to check it out & I can put you in direct contact with him.

I changed the oil in the Plaza this evening. Having experienced a filter housing gasket failure before, I let it idle while I watched it. No problems, dry as a bone. I shut it off, went into the garage to get a paper towel to check the oil level, came back out, and there was oil everywhere. So, off with the cap, reposition the gasket, try again. Seemed the second time was the charm. I hate the gaskets supplied with the current production Fram filters, but it's hard to find anything else.

Today was beautiful. Looking forward to tomorrow. The '55 made the trip from Frederick, MD to Carlisle and back and didn't use a drop of oil.

Great show. Terrific weather. We spent close to zero time near the car and just came back to store purchases or grab a drink. I never even took our chairs out of the back. We walked the whole swap meet and car corral on Friday as well as much of the show field. Today, we took in the whole show field, the car corral, and part of the swap meet. By 3:15, I was all in and just headed home.

I would prefer if they didn't post so many photos of individual cars and spread the love more around the showfield. But, it's nice that they take so many photos and post them to share.

Have you guys heard about a little problem about gathering people? The Carlisle website is mute about all this. My take on this that it is just not enough time for all this craziness to settle down the show maybe postponed or cancelled all together.

Maybe they’ll end up only having 1984 cars at these shows:

People who represent us in our government complain that the public doesn't support them, that we have no faith in their actions in our best interest . . .

And yet things like this go on every day . . . Say one thing, do something completely different. Make one rule for everyone, then immediately start making exceptions.

The fact that we're even discussing moving to less restrictions is ridiculous - NOTHING HAS CHANGED. There is no less risk today than 6 weeks ago. There is no vaccine. There is no proven data on transmission, infection, and what methods are truly effective. And if you actually believe that ANY store, mall, car dealership, or any other business is actually doing not only what they say, but anything effective, you are clearly living in a fantasy world. Spray and wipe DOES NOT disinfect. The proper process is spray - wait 4-6 minutes for the disinfectant agent to work, then wipe.

We're all going to get it. A vaccine is 12-18 months out - assuming there are no problems in testing and trials. And when it does come it won't get to the general public for another 6 months - people like your governor, the President, and all those types will be getting it first. Then the doctors, nurses, and first responders. So if you're thinking you're going to dodge COVID chances are you won't.

But I digress. If it's safe enough now to risk "re-opening" it was safe enough 6 weeks ago to not "close". If it's safe enough to eat at a restaurant with outdoor seating 3 feet apart, it's more than safe enough to attend an open air flea market.

The biggest tragedy isn't COVID deaths, or George Floyd, or Black Lives. The biggest tragedy is that the people we elect are absolutely unqualified to take the offices they hold, and yet again have failed to provide anything we need - leadership, information, meaningful direction . . . .

Our system is hard core screwed.

practice safe distance and its outside... wear a mask if you might go inside, shouldn't be a problem

they know the problem is the bars, spending 3 hours next in a closed space... everyone gets it...

be great if they can actually get a vaccine that quick... insane monetary rewards may help...

You're absolutely right. When I used to watch some films in which the virus was spreading (including zombies), I once did not believe that this could really happen, but now that the whole world has experienced COVID on myself, I changed my mind. And this is largely due to our politicians.
