We have completely dismantled the auto, all panels and metal parts have been taken back to bare metal and black primed. The body goes to the dip next week and will be clear primed so we can see what repairs we are looking at apart from the floor and sills which are badly rusted.. I have removed the plates for safe keeping but the plate under the hood is rust damaged ( see photo ) are these available or is there someone out there that can reproduce them? The stainless plate fixed to the drivers front pillar had 4 holes in it and my son in law being a stainless specialist has repaired it ( second photo )

Yes...photos need to be 250K or under...need to shrink them down.

1028 x 764 gets you well under the 250 kB limit.

That depends on which software you use to shrink it. I have software that can fit far more pixels than that in under 250K. You just need more compression. On the other end of the spectrum, Microsoft Paint is very limited in the amount of compression that it uses so the max pixel size with it is much smaller.

Try Irfanview for photo shrinking - free software, easy to use and simple menu based resizing. Copy your photos to a temp directory, open in Irfanview and shrink, then save and use.

I've been using Irfanview for more that 10 years both to capture screen images and save them and to edit/resize photos. Works great. 1024 x 768 = about 150 kB < 250 kB = good to post here.

I had a new one made by A.G. Backeast.
You should be able to just send them a picture of your old one, for them to make a new one.

Thanks for the great info, I have a full set of bold punches and will invest in a set of fine punches and small bead roller for this one should get out of it for about $150 bucks.

Really appreciate the info, thanks.

HI Bob , it would be nice to have the tag how it is meant to be done . Hand stamping one wont be successful .

By the way this is the type of machine they were made on . A Graphotype Addressograph machine . There were 4 of them in a vintage store in Hughesdale my mate saw about 10-15 years ago . probably from one of our car plants like Holden /GMH .
You would make a tag in a minute once set up .
