Hi all,

I'm in the process of swapping the 2 bbl intake out for the Chrysler Power 4 bbl, and have run into one snag and am wondering what others did.

The throttle bracket bolts to the back driver manifold bolt, and the new manifold is just a bit thicker. Because of this, the bracket doesn't line up - so I'm considering some options (FYI, I fought with it for a couple of hours yesterday attempting to force it over - no bueno). Before I cut that bracket and weld an extension on it, has anyone else solved this a different way?

You could use a Lokar cable and their bracket that attaches to the rear driver side carb mounting.

I had hoped to modify the stock throttle and kickdown linkage for my '56 with a '66 318, but it looked like too much work so I went with the Lokar setup for both.

Where did you guys connect the lokar cable? I haven't gone underneath the column to see if the pedal has a ball input - but if it does this is a no-brainer.....

I guess I cheated!

When I bought my project car, almost the entire floor was missing and the accelerator pedal was not salvageable. There was no reproduction sheet metal available for the accelerator pedal floor area, so because of the compound bends required to make a new floor in that area, I chose to make the floor flat and install a firewall-suspended pedal and cable from a later model Mopar.

Cheater! hahahaha - actually this is one of the few scenarios where I'm mad I got a pretty clean car versus a total trash bag. but I'm assuming the whole throttle mechanism is not set up to accept a lokar type setup based on the weird ass contraption I see under the hood. And the mechanism itself is fine - it's the mounting bracket I have a problem with...it gets bolted on the top of the transmission, the firewall, and one bolt on the back of the intake manifold. that last one just doesn't line up now with the new intake....and that's not the problem I expected when I started this swap LOL

I had a similar issue when I swapped the 331 hemi into my '56 Plymouth. I just modified the mount to be able to mount up to an available position. I used a welder to extend the bracket to where I needed it to mount. When you do, you need to ensure that the pivot is not ****ed sideways.

Yes, bracket 14-06-10 I believe is the one. It mounts to the top of the trans and the driver back intake manifold.
