I noticed more stations are now offering gasoline without ethanol. I have tested several the past month and found my trucks like it, especially mileage wise.
you can look some up on Pure gas. I tested 87 and 92 octane between different stations. I first noticed ethanol free fuel in Centennial's Murphy oil.
Have even tried Maverick's 87 octane. Federal Heights 88th at Pecos.

I've been running ethanol free gas in both the blue heron and in the Mercedes. Both cars run better. I had problems with vapor lock in the Chrysler until I switched.

yes ethanol is s**t, costs more to produce, uses a ton of water and pesticides, gets worse gas mileage and was basically a scam, govt paid out 50-60 billion in subsides.

With oil this cheap, even the govt is giving up this scam. I think the ethanol guys need to simply pay more to congress and buy those guys "vote".

Wow..the high cost of fuel there must suck. I can have racing fuel delivered to my shop at about one third of that cost.

Lads --
In the event you're interested, Chief Petroleum in Colorado Springs has 110 Octane LEADED (!) racing fuel for $8.66 per gal. (+ sales tax, not fuel tax, e.g., about 6.5%). Since this is for off-road use only, you can't pump it directly in your tank, but rather into a separate container. Since Chief is also in Denver, I imagine it's available up there as well at about the same price, but I can't confirm it. I like to run about five gallons of this 110 leaded stuff in each tankful of my cars:
- '57 300C, 392 CID, 9:1 compression (but with hardened valve train) and 23 gal. tank
- '60 Fury, 383 CID, 10:1 compression (also with hardened valve train), 20 gal. tank
- '65 Vette, 327 CID, 11:1 compression (hardened valve train, but fuel injection system requires lead), 20 gal. tank
- '65 Sport Fury, 426 CID, 10.3:1, 25 gal. tank
So far, they all seem to do well on it, especially regarding plugs (and I'm knocking on wood as I write that).

I'd be happy to see all the gas pumps go back to clear view pumps. We don't get much of choice in what we have down here in the banana belt of colorado. I remember back in the in the mid '90's in vegas the Arco AM/PM's sold racing gas for $5.00 a gallon. It labeled 150 octane and had a blue dye color. Put a tank in my '77 Power Wagon w/440 and it loved it.
