While cruising the net for things 56 Dodge late yesterday afternoon (it was raining out and I couldn't work on my car outside), I found an advert for a 56 Dodge D500 Custom Royal Sedan that is the same colours as mine. It is being sold in South Carolina. It might be the same one that was in Springfield Mass as late as last May, I don't know. What was interesting is they posted the data plate. Looks like an LA plant plate and it if so, it was built 3 days after my car (i.e. May 18th vs May 15th, 1956). I have left a message with the seller to confirm whether the VIN starts with 35 = Detroit or 42 = LA. I think I see the "Jubilee" horns which were an LA plant thing (vs. the shorter Spartan horns), so there is a good chance that it is an LA car.

UPDATE: Called the seller in South Carolina again. It is the Springfield Mass car. Its VIN starts with "42" so it *IS* an LA built-car as I suspected. So very nearly a twin to mine from the same line.
