Hi there I am looking for the gas heater fuel pump to a 1956 Chrysler Imperial Mopar Instant Heat Conditionaire, made by Stewart Warner model 800. I need the fuel line from the engine fuel pump, the fuel pump mounted on the blower, the fuel line from the fuel pump to the heater and the tube from the blower to the the heater. Also am looking for the 2 air deflectors for the trunk mounted A/C unit. These thing mount on each side of the rear deck. The A/C unit is Mark IV from the John E. Mitchell company in Dallas, Tx.
I will try to ad pictures of what I am working with. If the rear deck picture shows, the 2 air deflectors go in the holes where the stuff animals are perched.
please email me if you have or know where I might find these things.

Thank you.

Very "cool" option, whish that you find all the parts. Be extremely careful with those old gas heaters - they had a flaming history.

I would test the heater but then not use it and perhaps even plug the fuel line.

Because I view looking up parts as an interesting challenge and I have some resources that I kind of know my way around, I offer that the fuel pump that you seek is PN 1688 445. The diagrams and parts lists below back that up.

Doing a Google Search on "1688445 heater fuel pump" didn't turn up exactly that part but it did show up some modern day equivalents that would work for you:

https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b&ei=TmW6W-2wLYuE8AOwiq...

Specifically, the Webasto (a German company that makes gas and diesel auxiliary heaters) petrol (gasoline) heater in-line fuel pump available at places like Heatso.com

https://www.heatso.com/webasto-fuel-pump-12v-petrol/

The Model 800 parts diagram shows the fuel pump as Item 30. Item 30 in the Parts list leads to Section 1-48-962 and Section 1-49-962 yields the OE PN of 1688 445.

I'm thinking KA-BOOM !!

........  those parts willl be hard to find,....... I'm not sure if this is any help,  but if you wanted to retrofit something, the early Volkswagen air cooled bug had a gas heater.

Probably made by Webasto I know Webasto was still making them in the mid-90's for C4 Audi 100s and a6s (1992-97) in Europe.

Hence my fuel pump suggestion.

I'm sure I have a NOS pump somewhere in the house, when I was trying to restore one of theses units. Purchased on ebay, and I never saw one again.

Update after searching high and low for a number of years I finally have a fuel pump on the way. Broke the rules of a web site since it a lot like the FWL main forums it was on a VW site since some bugs use the Southwind. It is a tiny bit different, but has the top parts I need and it is new NOS pump. IF nothing else at least all the parts that the car was born with will be in it. Might still be friged depending on where it is, but with the hood up all will be complete. Thanks to all that view and replied.

Yes, your pump is different than the other model. Glad you found one replacement!

Here's an update to my saga for my heater. I finally found a tube that will work for the the blower to the heater unit. It is from a shop vac. The bucket head shop vac home depot carries. Wiered size of 1 1/4 OD x 1 3/8 ID. Too cold to either paint the blower and heater unit or not let alone to hook everything up right now.

Ok this again an old post. My heater does not use the second fender mounted box. After getting the wires to right spot and making sure the fan can run the fuel pump from the blower and making sure what opens when it should and the box makes clicking sounds to check operation while engine off and oh yeah making sure the other blower on the fire wall works when it should, 5 blowers in all in s**t darn thing. Oh yeah getting the "spark plug to work". All I can say is someone should have been shot for coming up with this crazy nightmare system. But going to a water type system would have taken on an entirely new world of engineering nightmares as no where are there ports anywhere on the engine alone and nothing to do with the firewall, dash or figuring out how to put in another heater box for where one never was.
Well in a nut shell it works. But what I did was put in a fuel drain so old fuel is not sitting in the unused lines. This car is now 100% complete as it was born although working not everything is original.
I do not suggest this darn heater system to any nut looking to make one work. It is a nightmare plain and simple.
