Location: Lower Mainland BC | I just checked my levels and the Powerflite is down a quart (which might explain the strange shifting once and awhile. (DUH).
I only have Dexron III on hand from a VW that used that (gone since 2008). I don't want to just throw it in the Powerflite without knowing what is best.
Thanks in Advance.

Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | Dexron III is the fluid that most of us use even if there's type "A" available again now.
The Ford type "F" could do if one would want harder shifts, but there might be risks with that as well. |

Bottom line, there isn't anything really unique about most of the pre-OD/lockup transmissions that requires a special fluid, it's just the manufacturer's recommendation. |
