Here is a pic of my USFG license plate collection. I bet a lot these were on FL cars.

Pretty neat. How did you come by them? By visiting swap meets or something?

Very nice unusual collection. I had www.licenseplates.tv/ make up one for a '52 show car that was custom bodied for a USAF pilot.

My father was stationed in Germany in the mid 50s. He got one at a garage sale in the 70s. He started collecting them at swap meets back then. He met my mom in Germany back in the late 50s. When my mom saw my latest 61 fury she said it reminded her of some big finned Chryslers she used to see driving around the base. I had a pic of a 60 fury with a USFG plate on it. I have misplaced it for now. I'm missing the 46 to 50 . They are harder to find as they get older . The 46to 50 plates are different they say United States and then the year.

That's a swell hobby. As you probably know, the current plate issued to forces in Germany doesn't look too much different from what the Germans use for their citizens. I would imagine it's done purposly by US Army Europe to avoid attracting unwanted attention from terrorists and the like. US Air Force personnel who return from a posting to the UK have tags on their cars that are identical to UK registration practises; probably for the same reason.

"HK" stands for HeideKreis (Heath district) on regular German Plates, which is a county 5 minutes away from me.
