Ripped out the AC radiator that did not belong in my car. The only reason it seemed to be in there was to simply hold what appears to be the transmission radiator in place. I figured it was getting in the way, blocking the engine radiator, so did not want it anymore. Ripped it out and now have a small (likely not stock) transmission radiator laying up against the main radiator that is not attached to anything other than the hoses.

My question is, how should I mount this little radiator? Should I mount it to the front of the main one or strap it to the side of something, like that vertical support piece in front of the radiators? Does this little radiator need to remain horizontal or can it be in any position and still function?

And I guess lastly, does anyone know if this little one is stock or a replacement?

Attaching a pic before removal and after removal.

That's definitely an aftermarket cooler (zip ties weren't even invented until '58)
The best would be to use the original built in cooler at the bottom of your main radiator.
There should be two threaded fittings unless you have an aftermarket radiator or one from a manual transmission car.

The best would be to use both, the tank cooler and the aftemarket one. This is how I always do it, with great results. The stock cooler is sometimes not enough.

But I would fabricate some brackets for it. Hate the zip ties.

I was thinking the same thing, that this seems like it would be better than the stock one. Although, having it strapped to the stock with zip ties allows it to bleed off some of the heat onto the main radiator, or maybe vice versa. Either way, you are right, I should built a bracket for it. Just need to see what I can track down for a frame where I can suspend it in front of the stock one.
