Got my ply service manual out it stays I need a adjusting gauge MT 19 to adjust brakes
I have read this a couple of times it is beyond me
Can they be adjusted another way ?
Any help will be greatly appreciated

It's tedious, but can be done without the special tool. As long as you know your new internal drum diameter, you can use a piece of bar stock or angle iron and make a gauge to fit your turned drums. It just takes careful measuring and drilling. Check out page 4 of my thread in general discussion on my '55 Plaza Suburban. Without some sort of gauge, it is possible to get the shoes adjusted to the proper diameter, but not concentric with the axle shaft.

Keep in mind, generally if the drums were resurfaced, the linings are supposed to be arc ground for proper shoe to drum surface contact.

I thought it explained it better than the factory service manual does. Feel free to email me. However, I've only done this once and it took me what felt like forever to do just the rears.
