Location: Muskego, WI | How can I permanently restore (or at least greatly improve) the clarity of my windshield? Drove my Plymouth at night for the first time, visibility was terrible. It's not much better in the day time, very hazy. |

I tried several products with felt polishing wheels over the years. No good results!

Location: Western Colorado | Is the haziness because of a film on the glass, or is it between the layers of the glass? One way to find out is take a small amount of polishing compound, or a fine rubbing compound, and polish a small section, preferably on the lower right side, and see if the haziness goes away. If it does, then you need to get the windshield very clean and then polish it with cerium oxide compound which is a glass polish. If the rubbing compound or polishing compound doesn't clear it up, it is probably starting to delaminate and a new windshield is in order.
Hope this helps.

Location: Ontario, Canada | As I recall, if you can "feel" the defect or haze with a fingernail, no do it yourself polishing treatment will work!

Location: Muskego, WI | Long term, I do need a windshield. Dorsey Williamson has one that I'd love to buy, but he's in Little Rock, AR, and I'm in Milwaukee, WI. My windshield has a number of serious cracks, chips and other blemishes that are well beyond repair. As far as I know, new windshields are not available.
Thanks for the lead on Cerium Oxide, I'll look into it. |

Location: Connecticut | Yes, you need to replace it, especially will all the defects that you mention. Cross-reference it. What other years/makes/bodystyles use this windshield ? Then start searching for parts cars in the area. Also, French Lake Auto Parts in MN is a huge old car salvage yard. They will likely have what you need. Ron |
