Location: NY & VT | Re-doing part of the door panels on my '58 DeS... most of the panel is fine, but the silver chrome-y "Mylar" (?) in the center that surrounds the door pulls needs replaced - is there a source for this ? Need not be exactly the same pattern, if the exact original is not available... for example does the stuff for the outsides of a '58 Fury Christine like Jim Rawa sells work? Or is there another acceptable substitute? I assume it's a vinyl backed but shiny material? I prefer not to deal with "you know who" that begins with "S" due to past experiences with them... please advise and thanks!

Location: Perth Australia | I got similar to this, but no fabric on the back
The fabric on the back is a bonus, it will make it easier to sew

| I have a '58 Desoto also, and I started searching around for this material. I found some on Amazon that looked very close to original. Curious to hear what others have found |

Location: Perth Australia | The stuff I got, the squares were exactly the same size as the ones from factory, the only difference was that the squares came to a point, not sort of rounded off at the top
You would only notice if you looked really close and it may be that they were pointed to start with and got flattened over time
I still have most of the roll I bought

Michael - will it lay flat when mounted? Looks sort of "puckery" in the pic.
Garrett do you have a link for Amazon, what did you do a search for there? All I found were complete "tents", no rolls of material.

Location: Perth Australia | Yep that picture is the trim not fitted to the panel
It is like tin foil, so it wont behave exactly like cloth or vinyl. It wasn't hard to sew, but getting around the corner was a bit of a pain
I also folded it under all the way around the edge to give it a better edge and a bit of volume for the sewing
If you can get it ultrasonic welded like factory it will be much better
