Where can I get a good, new pair? I installed some new Eaton springs and the front end dropped 3 inches lower than stock, so the search continues. My original springs sag significantly to the driver's side. Bernbaum has coils for $200/pair, anybody buy from him? Any other supplier suggestions?

Thanks.

Jon call eaton and tell them that the springs aren't right.. they should make you new ones. They can customize them to what you need.

oh one more thing.. mine sagged too. What it turned out to be was the rear air shocks. They don't fail like regular shocks. I changed two sets of leaf springs before I figured this out... I would save you that pain.

I called Coil Spring Specialties, they were very knowledgeable and affordable, thanks for the tip.

I'm trying to work with Eaton to get whatever I can, a refund or new springs, but they are don't seem too concerned with righting their wrong...

Change those shocks and see if the problem goes away.

100 bucks well spent...

Beltran,

This seems like it would only mask the problem, is this reliable long term? Do you have these in your '55?

Yes I have them on my 55. The problem was the shocks for me. I changed the springs twice and it made NO difference. Then I did the shocks.. problem gone.

Received and installed my new coil springs from Coil Spring Specialties, they are perfect. Car sits level front to rear and side to side. Still working on Eaton to get my money back.

Detroit Eaton is going to issue me a refund for the springs, so I'm happy that they are at least doing the right thing.
