Location: Binghamton NY | I saw your post and went out to get a pic of the screws i have in mine. They are tapered so they sit flush in the housing. (20180501_174416.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 20180501_174416.jpg (247KB - 132 downloads)

Location: Binghamton NY | Great looking Suburban!! I saw one of those in the bone yard when i dug a couple plymouths out of years ago. I always think about going back and asking the property owner if he still has it. I remember he said they parked it there in the 1970's and there it still sat. It was in rough shape, but had potential. I see you have the clock on your dash! That's something i've been searching out for years now. I just can't find one anywhere. Do magnets hold it onto the dash, or is it mounted on there with a hole for the wires? Your question on here about the screws must have gotten overlooked. Usually people are very helpful on here, and i've come across some really nice people on here.

Elite Veteran Posts: 689 Location: Winston Salem, N.C. | hi thanks for the compliment. The clock is bolted on with screws. I did not "fix" the clock because I don't need it, but I do like the oddity of the mounting of the clock. There is a suburban wagon somewhere in Tennessee. I'll ask the person to see if it has a clock. Yes people at this forum are, helpful, and giving of their time. How is your steering? My car has "loose steering". Did you replace any thing or do anything to improve your steering to make it tighter? thanks Jerry Whitfield winston salem, NC

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9900 Location: Lower Mainland BC | 57chizler - 2018-05-02 12:34 PM The technical term for the countersunk screw with a slightly rounded head is "Oval Head Countersunk Screw". Auveco calls them "Phillips Oval Head Tapping Screws" http://www.auveco.com/OnlineCatalog/v2016/index.html#?page=2 In Canada, Geno Industries repackages Auveco products, e.g. page 14/37 : http://www.geno-inc.org/tiroir.pdf Edited by 56D500boy 2018-05-03 1:03 PM

Location: Binghamton NY | My steerings been loose a couple times. I don't have power steering so i could feel the play in the joints when i turn the wheel. You might just have bad tie rod ends. I'd look at those first.
