My 1958 Plymouth Belvedere was shipped to ‘John L. Kruse Motors Inc.’ (dealer no 54883 as noted on my IBM build card) Clarence NY in April of 1958 and sold soon after. The dealership was located at 10885 Main Street and became ‘John K. Kruse Motors Inc.’ upon his father’s (John L.) death in 1962. The Kruse family who had founded the dealership in 1939 kept the dealership until sometime in 1973 when it became ‘Smith Bros.’ Dodge until sometime in 1979 when it became ‘Bob Gibson’ Dodge. ‘Bob Gibson’ Dodge became ‘Clarence Dodge’ until the mid 2009 when it became the used car outlet of ‘Transitowne’ Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep in nearby Williamsville, NY. My guess is the last change to a used car outlet was part of the restructuring of Chrysler’s dealerships in the midst of the 2008-2009 financial crisis in which Chrysler closed nearly 800 dealerships across the US.

In the last few years the dealership was sold to ‘Kelly Schultz Antiques’ which operates at 10885 Main Street today.

"Kids" these days (Sorry Robert) Can't read cursive writing. It's the new hieroglyphics/secret decoder ring.

Westside
62855
Akron, Ohio

Google AI says:

"Westside Motors in Akron, Ohio, was a significant dealership, especially known for Lincoln-Mercury, that became part of the larger
VanDevere Bunch family business, a major Akron automotive group that started in 1946 with Rudy VanDevere and expanded by acquiring
dealerships like the Westside Lincoln Mercury building in the early 2000s, tying it to Akron's rich automotive history.

Akron's Automotive Roots: This history ties into Akron's identity as the "Rubber Capital of the World," a hub for tire and auto manufacturing
(Goodyear, Firestone, etc.), making it a natural location for dealerships like Westside."

Thanks Dave. I would never have thought of that - Westside, ha.

Kids, it would be nice to be a kid again...

Printed text sometimes plays tricks too:
