installed a nos kit like that (bought on ebay) many years ago in a 61 desoto. it worked but wasn't a plug in. needed some modifications, i forgot what was involved. they changed the wiring for 61. had to replace it with an aftermarkt unit since german law requires a flashing knob when activated. sold it on ebay with a loss

I remember my Friends 63 Buick had one installed, and the Knob had a flashing light in it. I don't know if his was wired wrong, but if you put the flashers on, while stepping on the brake, with the ignition off, the radio would play in unison with the flashing.

The Chryslers had an 8 wire connector. Anyone have a photo of those?

I made an 8 wire connection for '60-'62 Chryslers, but the space is VERY limited under the dash so I never mounted it.

Instead I made a modern version of the emergency flashers with diods and an extra flasher relay according to instructions from Serge.

He plugs are different for 59.

I know this because we made a couple with NOS parts with 59 plugs. I’ve got 2 sets at home for the 59’s

Thank you Sven. I see these have the cancel circuits, which only Chryslers used, so they had a unique kit.

I think these may have been made for Mopar by Signal-Stat, had the red light-up knob and sold at Pep Boys, Western Auto & such. I had a NOS one some years back. I'd think about $35 or so but that's just a guess, YYMV.

Yes, the Chrysler kit was special, but to install it with a 50+ year old harness will be difficult and ankward. The harness has a very limited space and I hestiated even to try to install my kit.

Another downside is that theres really no place on the dashboard or under it on a '60-'62 Chrysler where one would like to have that knob.

This is why I Went for the easier diod system which works very nicely and is totally discrete and hidden.

You don't by any chance have a copy of the installation instructions for Chrysler do you?

No, sorry Matt, I don't have any documentation on the Chrysler 4-way emergence flasher.

This was a wise decision, Sven, according: do it simple and efficient!  - SERGE - :
