Needs a lot of work but appears to be very dry and solid. I see power windows, but not any other options. Looks to be missing some trim but there's a lot of junk in it and the missing peices might be buried in there somewhere. Auction starts at $75.00.

For those of you who like insane styling, there is also a '58 Lincoln vert there too. Along with a '55 Chevy wagon as well.

Crazy how 58-60 Lincoln, one of the most overly sculpted cars of all time, was succeeded by one of the simplest and least sculpted cars of all time in 61.

Call me crazy .... I love the 58-60 Lincolns. Kinda like 61 Dodge, you gotta
be around them in person. Photos just do not capture the cool. Super low
belt line and "starship" styling details galore. Definitely a different path than
where Exner dwelt, but a fine sight better looking that that abortion that Chevy
built in 1958. Scaling out at 25 tons, that 430 was rough on fuel, but they really
were quite a car. Lincoln had a lot of great styling over the years. The early 30's
cars, and while I don't care for them, the Zephyr era stuff was a real standout
for the times, the 49-51 bathrubs, and all through the George Jetson era they
were great. Ever seen a 56 in that incredible lilac color they had ? 57's were
over the top too. The razor-side 61 was one of the cleanest pullouts from the
fin theme any car mfr. managed.

Hah yeah Ford says 95% of buyers like it over the Cadillac! Rofl... even in 58 Ford was onto using "alt facts"...

That Lincoln is a good looking car and certainly not boring to look at. This one looks solid and looks like it might clean up nice. Pull up in a show with this redone and you probably will be the only one like it.

Absolutely a beautiful car.

That Pinto wagon in the background looks interesting too.

i love 58 lincolns, never appealed to me untill in saw one in person. beautiful, magnificent cars, love the crazy front bumper and the to the outside curved rear end. in 58 i prefer the lesser models with the single taillights, like in the years before.

im sorry I can seem to like that car, its way too awkward and the rear window reverse slant looks horrible. Just an ugly car, its different ill give you that but certainly not sleek. Typical for ford designs, looks like a rock to a certain extent.

Chryslers 61 usage looked much better

Nice thread and cars, we have to admit that the Lincoln is a bold design, one of those cars that seems coming from other places different than the ford drawing table.

but guys remember that non FL car pictures or discussion are not allowed in here for some unknown reason or rule. Ronbo97 is going to send this thread to the dump with his happy trigger finger.

In an attempt to appease and perhaps preserve this thread I'll offer this. That 57 more door New Yorker looks pretty darn complete and restorable. At least from what you can see. Hopefully the plug wire covers and the rear glass trim are in the trunk pile??

Plug wire covers are easily replaced and are reproduced so you can purchase them new if you like. The rear window trim is going to be harder.

Yes indeed Sid, I never understood how they could make such a daring design and then stumble on the interior

There is also a 15% internet premium, so tach on an additional 15% to the sale price. Oh, and a 7.5% sales tax that is applied AFTER the 15% premium.

I think Ford spent all their creative effort on the Edsel's dashboard in 58. Too bad they scewed up royally and put the shifter controls where the horn is supposed to go!

That was probably the least of the Edsel's problems though....

One could guess that $3800 is what somebody was willing to pay to just get the 392. Whether the car itself survives I would hope so too. Hard to say.

Hey, maybe somebody is going to restore the car with that engine.

Maybe.

If it shows up for sale minus the motor I might buy it. I've got a 57 Imp 392 that should slide right in. It's a sweet car that I hope gets restored.

I hope the body survives too. 4dr hardtops are really nice cars. That's the main reason why I didn't bid on it, because I would never be able to part it out and I can't use another project car.

The Lincoln convertible sold for over $11K with the premium included.

Looks like someone got a good deal. I was in the area last weekend, but already had a car to pick up that was already paid for so I passed on it. Hopefully it gets kept as a builder, not just for the engine.

Looks like it's already running and driving at a car show in Laughlin Nevada. That was quick! Maybe purchased by the same guy who got the Lincoln? Looks a lot better without all the trash weight in the back of it and the dirt cleaned off.
