Elite Veteran Posts: 963 Location: San Antonio, TX | Ok, I put this on temporarily to show you and hopefully someone will take pity on me and sell me a passenger side bumper guard. I've been looking on and off for years. Don't worry I won't leave it like that. Expert Posts: 3967 Location: DFW, TX | I've acquired quite a set of driver's side bumper guards! But for some reason the pass side is really difficult to locate. I'll look in my stash tonight and see if I have an extra.

Elite Veteran Posts: 963 Location: San Antonio, TX | Ok, I agree it could be done. But I know for sure getting the curves and dimensions just right would be a bit of work. Definitely beyond my cutting and welding skills. (dagmar.JPG) Attachments ---------------- dagmar.JPG (121KB - 91 downloads)

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9666 Location: So. Cal | Correct, but the '58 version (DeSoto & Chrysler in '58 are the same) is a little different from '57. They can be swapped between 57 and 58, but they require modification of the mounting surfaces & likely rechrome afterward.

Elite Veteran Posts: 1112 Location: Wild Wonderful | I made a cast of a 1958 Dagmar, then put that cast over a 1957 Dagmar. I drew lines on the 57, so you can see the difference between the two. I am not going to modify the 57. It is now for sale. Make me an offer. Send me a PM. I am still looking for a passenger side Dagmar for the 1958 DeSoto. Elite Veteran Posts: 963 Location: San Antonio, TX | Now that I have a 57 passenger side... I came to learn I actually had a 58 driver's side Dagmar. If anyone would like to trade me for a 57 driver side please let me know. My 58 piece is pretty nice. Some light shelf wear and small area where the chrome is a little brassy looking. Not show, but a very nice driver for sure. PM me if you are interested in a swap and I'll send you pictures. Thanks!

Elite Veteran Posts: 963 Location: San Antonio, TX | Ok, Ok. I know one dagmar is bigger than the other. Is that so bad? I had girlfriend just the same. She didn't seem to care and neither did I. We got along just fine (2dagmars.JPG) Attachments ---------------- 2dagmars.JPG (130KB - 109 downloads)

Elite Veteran Posts: 1112 Location: Wild Wonderful | She looks purty. I don't know any girl that is perfect. So you are looking for a 57 Drivers. And I am looking for a 58 Passengers. I think you will have better luck.

Location: The Mile High City | Hi, Kurt: I am looking for a set of '58 dagmars. Would you be able to make me a cast of each too? I have a set of Chrysler dagmars and it may come down to cutting those to fit - although I know you noted that was a lot easier said than done.
Thanks, Mike | ||

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9666 Location: So. Cal | I am confused Mike. The '58 Chrysler and DeSoto dagmars are exactly the same. The only difference is from '57 DeSoto to '58's.

Thanks, Mike Mike, I can make a set of casts/templates for each. Just remember that it is not really a cast, it's a piece of paper with a bunch of tape on it. If you do cut the 57s down to the 58 size, it will cut into the inside bracket. You might have to move the bracket for it to be sturdy. It's a lot of work, but some times you just gotta do whatcha gotta do. Remember, Dave has a drivers side for sale or trade. Edited by 58DeSoDodge59 2018-02-23 1:40 PM
