I have these 3 motor mounts, 2 of them are from a '75 440 motor that was installed (improperly, I think) in my '57 Windsor sedan. The one on the far left is from my '57 New Yorker.

I believe that the far left one is the correct right side to the 392, and the one in the middle looks correct for the left side on the 392. The difference in offset between left and right is required because the 392/354 right side motor mount flange is further back than the flanges on the left. But the motor mount on the far right is a different design that mirrors the left side and would negate the offset built into the mount on the left. Does anyone know what this mount on the far right side is originally used on?

I'm not sure about offsets or hole spacing or details like that, but 1957 DeSotos (and I'm guessing other '57 Mopars) used both open-top mounts like the left one in your picture AND closed versions just like the RIGHT one in your picture. On my 3 '57 DeSotos, I think 2 have closed tops and one has open tops.

According to National Moparts, they claim that these are the correct configuration for poly motor mounts. This right side mount looks a lot like the right side one I have. Does anyone have pictures of big block mounts?

Am with Petrus here, on my 300vert i have open cups, on my 300cupe & Imperial they are closed. All mine are 57 models. The straight ones is an way better product in mine opinion. Trying to find open insulator for replacing is another big task.
I can not tell for sure but im told the open cups where the early type. Then where replaced with closed cups that holds inline insulator of better quality.
Bytheway any ever tried to pull there 392 oil pan without raising engine in front!!! With closed cups you can do this, dont think about doing it with your old open ones...

What does the oil pan removal have to do with the motor mount design? One thing I like about the open design is that you can easily see what rotation the rubber is positioned at. With the closed version, you can only guess. But if you can get a centered rubber (from where??) then it wouldn't matter. But I don't like how the rubber is more likely to shift & eventually fail in the open design. The open design also bends quite easily.

One thing that doesn't add up about those poly motor mounts listed above are the part numbers. He has a 1828234 number listed for the left side and a 1828233 number listed for the right side. But usually a right side part number is even, and the left is odd. However, even the Mopar parts list has these part numbers screwed up. So I am not sure what to believe without verifying on an original poly motor.

As the open ones collapses over time, engine sits lower and lower,,,,finaly the clearence pan/frame will not allow you to pull the pan. For this manouver you want fresh engine mounts & in the best world an dead tranny mount.. Bytheway i try paste a pic vaccum switch fitting 57Imp..

Here’s a couple photos of mine, to add to the confusion the left one is open and the right one is closed. But the engine was rebuilt years ago so could have been replaced at that time (or another time).
