49 to 51 ambassador with a stick only. Must be mechanically excellent. Prefer original unrestored cosmetics.

I used to have a 50 and a 51 ambassador, KICK myself for selling them. It was my moms favorite, she called it the turtle. My 50 was an automatic and drove great, had so much fun with that car. You are right, they don't come up often.

Yes that white one would be a candidate but its been raped with an earl shieb color change paint job and dirt cheap interior. I would rather have one with patina. I had one a few years ago and it was such a blast to drive! In a foolish moment t I sold it.

They are light. 3400 lbs. Handle better than one would think. Stop good. And the stick and overdrive is fun. Very well made and no rube Goldberg mechanicals like my 59 Buick is plagued with.

I am dying to understand what was so fun about driving one of these ???

=============================

No takers ? Was it the lack of visibility ? Soft, rollover handling ?
Anemic power and braking ?, or was it the turd-on-the-lawn styling ?

I gotta admit, I enjoy seeing these things. They ARE cool. But I
never thought they were any fun at all to drive.
