The last letter looks like the top of a "c", the letter before that looks like the top of a t, or l, or / .

So maybe you are right, maybe it says "A. Pilot n/c" .

Why was the 3 circled, and 266 written above it? What does 266 mean? Is it the last digits of a part number?

A broadcast sheet was taped to the back of the glovebox on just about all Dodges from 57 to 59.
Why do you suppose it was even taped there?
Why do YOU think 3 was circled?
Why do you think it said "Custom"?
Why do you think it said Blue and some said Bk?
Why do you think some said Lancer?
Why do you think some said Convertible?

C'mon, give it your best shot -------- Anybody?!

Hint: it had everything to do with getting the correct dashboard colour and switches and wiring harnesses installed on this particular car. These dashboards were all switch equipped and wired from the back!

Are you saying that the Broadcast sheet and glovebox was the First thing to go on the back of the dash?
I always thought that it was on a clipboard until they were ready to actually install the dash in the car,
and that is when they taped it to the top of the glovebox. It seems like it would be hard to read if it was
taped on there first. But my question is not why there is a Broadcast sheet, but what are the notes about.
Do any of those notes pertain to the Auto Pilot? Why do moths like to eat the important sections of the paper?
Is the movie Psych really coming out in Dec or are they just trying to psych us out?
These are important questions that we all need answers to.
Any ideas?

I would guess all the dash was fitted and the cardboard Glovebox was fitted last, allowing them to read the broadcast sheet throughout assembly and then taped to the cardboard glovebox for final fitment

The last parts installed on the dash would probably be specialized switches and the various wiring harnesses. Back up light, map light, convertible top, wiper and blower switches etc were all dependant on what options were to be on the car. Lots of broadcast sheets were printed for each car and I think the notes we see on the glovebox ones were made by a foreman? and were reminders for the workers that were only working on the dash assemblies. You know, the stuff that got missed or errors that had been made in the past. The broadcast sheet itself was enough info to build the car.

For example, for 58 Dodge, in addition to the main harness (which is all that is necessary for a stripper car) there are 5 more single wires or smaller harnesses for options depending on what was ordered and none were standard equipment.

I think the 3 is circled to remind that the car gets back up lights, mirromatic and music master radio. Black means black dash. Custom is Custom Royal so it needs all the CR equipment. A/C. In and out --- I can't guess!

In all the Broadcast Sheet samples that I have, when the 3 is circled there is always a handwritten number above it. But the number is always different.

Amazingly well-optioned car ! Probably ordered or given to a dealership in an upscale area to show off many of the options available.

Maybe it's an employee number. Someone circles the 3 and then puts their number above it, saying "Look boss, I did this".

I don't know why I went back to this thread, but I read through it again, and I think I can answer why the three is circled
at the top right. Accessory group 313 was modified by adding the A/C, so they circled the 3 to let you know that the
pricing will be modified. Then they added a note at the bottom left saying that the- 343 A/C - Heater was "In" and the
313 - Heater was "Out".
I still don't know what the number above the circled 3 is for.

This time they circled the 1 in Group 341, stating the Heater was not needed in this group because it was already in group 313.
