Hello all, I am adding power brakes to my 1958 dodge custom royal and I am in the process of rebuilding an oval booster, I see rebuild kits online for $265.00 but I don’t need the leather band, only the canister o ring, the flat rubber stop gasket, the little boot seal that goes over the outer small shaft and if available the diaphragm. Seems like a lot of money for 4 pieces of rubber that I need.
Does anyone have these parts or know if I can buy them separately?

I also need the (I may have the terminology wrong here) correct brake pedal for power brakes, is this just an extension piece that attaches to my existing pedal arm or a totally different piece.

Last question: is there a special piece that goes into the manifold to attach the vacuum line, I assume it is an elbow since the intake filter covers it, can I use anything that will accept the hose over it? Are these available anywhere?
Thanks in advance. Bob

Welcome to the group!....You will need the complete brake pedal assembly as its a one piece unit and the master cylinder rod on the power unit is also at a different angle, You will also need to change the bolts on the fire wall to take the power booster backing plate as the 2 are different from a non power backing plate.....The part for the manifold is a 2 way unit...so you can hook up the vacuum hose and keep the starter saftey switch working (engine vacuum stops you from pushing the "N" button and starting the engine while its still running)

The price for the rebuild kit it is similar to send the unit to be rebuilded by a professional. I agree, $265.00 for a few pieces of rubber is totally unacceptable, specially looking at others kits from the same seller with dozens of parts for a fraction of the price. But he is selling them, and the price probably will never go down.
Maybe installing another cheaper more reliable unit is the answer; I'm starting to getting fed up by some Chrysler mechanical blunts. Sometimes pushing you patience and wallet to the limit to keep the mechanically originality of a car, makes no sense.

I already abandoned the idea of some of the upgraded to my car, like power window, AC and autopilot even that I had complete original kits to do it.

The attached Power Brake mechanism diagram is for a 56 Dodge would be very similar to that for a 58 Dodge. It shows how when you step on the brake pedal the bellows actually pushes at the top of the pedal (above the pivot point) and therefore is true power brake assist.

Booster Dewey rebuilds these things for $300. I had one done and was very happy with the work. I have a brake pedal assembly if you need one, it is out of an Imperial.

Thanks for your help, I have a plug in the back of my manifold now that I was thinking to remove and attach the hose there.
