I have the relinquished the ownership of my 300G. I was needing a cash infusion, due to my recent retirement... I sold today. Totally rust free. I had removed trim for a paint repair and never finished the Job. Please note the dark spots are adhesive sanding pads that protected the body from door dings while parked in the garage. The new owner now has a lifetime battery and alignment. and new leather w/ door panels.

Great car, Rick! On one hand, it must be tough to see it go. On the other - look at how much garage space you have!

and a little cash to get in trouble with!

congrats!

I take it you sold it to the older fella who rolled into the Southglenn Mall in that over-the-top C300? ...it will be treated well!

Mike, You are correct, I had mixed feelings. I talked to him and his daughter about not over-restoring, and driving her. We will see. I drove her for just over eight years, She was a great ski bunny! I also enjoyed driving a 300G I bought for parts, for years, after her. I finally Junked the last one due to rust and cracked and collapsed stub frame issues. Just to find out some one had resurrect the old VIN. Funny thing I still have the original title to that G.

Love those 413's! It must be nice to still have contact with the car.

Tell your friend/new owner to not use those exhaust manifold gaskets. He risks breaking the outer ears off the castings. Ask me how I know.
Just need nice flat surfaces and some exhaust putty.

Steve.

I will advise the new owners, of your suggestion. They will be visiting this afternoon. The exhaust manifold gaskets came with the new gasket kit I supplied with the 300G.
I have used this style with the heat shield for decades with no problems. I installed many sets, I was a fleet mechanic for over forty years. I have seen broken manifolds,
very few on Chrysler products. Post Script...'Slant six exhaust manifolds in van and pick up trucks, come to mind, no big block.'

I know I said 'I won't work on the G after it was sold' I was wrong..... I answered the phone and a request for help to get the old girl fired and break in the camshaft. also a problem with the starter.
the starter worked fine when all the wires were installed on the inner fender mounted relay.
The tack drive distributor still needed to be threaded through the maze of heater lines, air conditioning equipment and wiring cables.... Finally was able to get things in place and where they belonged working with the new owner.
Also fired her up and broke in the camshaft. The gentleman in the picture is one of the new owners.

I am sure this has happened to everyone trying to restore an older vehicle...LOST PARTS. First call was a seat cushion, later found in closet at new owners shop.
one stamped sheet metal wing nut for air cleaner? horn connector and follower on steering column? Drivers door release handle?
All parts were there and some how were misplaced during the process. The part I was surprised I had a spare of was the release handle.
Not as nice as the original but very clean all the same. I couldn't believe I had a spare of each...Lucky for them.

Mike, The new steering wheel... I am sure is a recast that was passed off as NOS. The only thing the new owners re-chromed was the rear bumper. check out the floor pan.
Nice when there is no rust repair needed. They sealed and sound deadened the foot wells. You can cut and buff the floor pan...what the?

Dave, I didn't know they allowed restified letter cars in the 300 shows.

The owner shown used to the president of the Colorado 300 owners association and the Corvette club at the same time.

Reading the factory service manual or FSM can save your parts and money. This is the last horn and turn signal canceling switch and bracket I had, replacing one damaged when steering column was disassembled. Remove these first!

Update; restoration progresses, and problems that should never happen do....
New power-steering pump never worked cleaned up old one and reinstalled and steering assist now works perfectly.
New dual master cylinder failed rear section, not much room to change out.
Tachometer twisted off end of cable.
finally drove her and she flies, torque monster, have video but the forum doesn't support that many megs of pixels.
Check out pictures.

The weather has brought us a longer cold spell, and actually below zero, and being the shop is not heated when not in use.
The conditions have one of the new owners concerned about valve clatter. There was no valve clatter, The new custom made
forged pistons had not reached operating temperature as quickly as he was used to or the noise on cold startup, everything checked
out to be just fine.... No Problem...zero pin offset doesn't help.

In the most recent issue of Hemmings, a 300G just like this one sold at a Mecum Spring Classic Indy auction for $192,500!

That car had factory air conditioning.

Update: it was a convertible.  Funny, the blurb in Hemmings never mentioned the drop-top.  I went to the auction site to find the 300G hardtop, but only a convertible was there.  Upon closer inspection of the Hemmings photo, it was indeed a convertible.
