Hi, I'm new here. My Dad is a car nut and he's owned multiple 300B's throughout his life and he just bought what he calls his final project. It is a matching numbers car, it originally came from Montana. I cannot take a rubbing of the vin to satisfy the 300 club because I won't see Dad until February, he lives far from me. I am trying to get him some info for Christmas. Can anyone here point me in the right direction? Here's the Vin just in case you can work magic or are curious. 3N561461

Thank you for your help

Welcome to the board.

Chrysler Historic can provide the factory build records for his car but they require proof of ownership, usually in the form of a copy of the current title.

Welcome to the site. It sounds like you already checked with the 300 club with not much success. When you wrote about Montana, who immediately came to mind is Gary Goers. You may want to Google Gary and see if he might know something about the car - he may have even owned it at one time or another if it was around Montana for very long!

Good luck!

Check here, they may be able to help. Lots of info on the web site you can access w/o being a member.
www.chrysler300club.com
Chrysler historical will only be able to tell when it was built and delivered to which dealer as well as how it left the factory w/what ever options it was ordered with.
If it is in the Chrysler 300 Club registry, they can tell you who the owner(s) have been depending on when the VIN was entered into their system.

The number you gave is an engine number not a VIN number.
This engine number may or may not be original to the car.
Only the micro fich record will tell you that.
VIN number would NOT have the 'E' in it.
It would be 3N56 + digits. more than likely less than the #1461 you posted.

Thank you for your suggestions, I appreciate it and will certainly follow all of these leads. Will let you know if I find out anything interesting especially about Gary. I know he was/is the upholstery guru. Wouldn't that be something if this car ran through his hands?

Were in the US is your Dad located?
The 300 Club has 2 meets scheduled for next year, one in the Bay area and one in Rhode Island.
Maybe one of those will be in his corner of the country.
If I may suggest, a gift membership in the club.
Maybe a conspiracy w/Mom may be another route to get the VIN #

We had a couple nice B's show for the fall meet earlier this month in Lynchburg, VA
