I've just snuck in painting of the inside of my virtually rust-free (some minor surface rust, no perforations whatsoever) 56 Dodge trunk before it gets too cold to paint in my tiny garage without heat.
While the paint is curing (probably a few days at these temps), I thought I would share some of the photos that I have collected, starting with my bare but painted trunk and them some other 55-56 Dodge and Plymouth trunks that show the level of options I could follow, i.e. new divider panel (for sure), simple rubber mat, full lining, carpeting (very unlikely), etc. I am not sure which way I want to go in the long run. In the short run, the lid will get some of that eBay waffle padding and the base some kind of mat. I think I will build storage boxes for both sides of the trunk. Sounds like a job for 13 layer 1/2" birch plywood.
