Gorgeous but I can't for the life of me understand why anyone that goes through the motions of restoring a car like this to factory original, the interior is custom. Is it just me or do others feel the same way?

I don't have any problem with the interior being non-original. First, an original interior is quite expensive. Second, I am not enthralled by the original interior's looks. They're not bad but not awesome either.

Perhaps Bill can confirm this, but I believe the color is called Dusty Orange, code N. I also believe the same color was offered on Dodge as Tropical Coral. Also, it looks very close, if not identical to the Gauguin Red on the 57 Chryslers. I think this is one of the coolest colors offered that year.

Car was not intended to be restored to factory original. It was being restored to the way the one I had in high school back in 1962 was with some improvements. Sorry if that upsets you, but as they say "It's my car". I feel sure that it would not be a major undertaking for a future owner to put the interior back to original, if that is what they desired.

And you didn't have to deal with SMS Auto Fabrics either!

Nice colour! My Cadillac is a similar colour; a little more salmon.

Bill, my database has the your VIN, but before you sell her, I'd sure like to have the motor number if possible. PM me with it if you will. Good luck with the sale. You put a lot of work into that beautiful car!

Ok, i will say it. I think the car restored is worth more the $24 but $30k for a firesweep coupe is probably it. Now before everyone takes issue with that statement., I would want $70K+ for my 57 sedan. I have that much in it not counting thousands of hours of scraping undercoating and blasting and trying to make evrything perfect. To me, outside of the drivetrain there are a billion parts inside doors, moldings, rubber groments, door and window rubber etc etc etc. If you really go through all of it your car is worth a lot more than you will get for it. Look at what people are buying on Mecum and Barrett Jackson. The bucks are only there for the special editions and classics don't pull the dollars like high performance cars. I saw a beautiful totally restored 57 Buick go for $34,000!!!! My point is we need to be realistic. I love my FWL cars but I know I could never get what they are really worth in labor and parts. They were never an investment.
